About WindChill
WindChill exists because "32 degrees" means nothing until you add the wind.
Three formulas run the felt weather: wind chill (how fast cold wind strips skin heat), heat index (how hard humid heat blocks sweat cooling), and dew point (the honest measure of moisture). All three are published NWS equations with validity ranges — and all three are one calculator apart.
Each calculator shows its formula, its comfort/danger bands, and the meaning notes that keep the indices honest (wind chill affects skin, not pipes; heat index assumes shade).
We are weather nerds and educators, not a forecast service. Nothing here predicts tomorrow — the calculators convert today's measurements into what you will feel.
What makes WindChill different
- Your numbers never leave your browser. Every calculator on WindChill runs entirely on your device. We never see, store, or transmit the figures you enter — there are no accounts and no server-side processing of your inputs.
- Published methodology. Each calculator page explains the exact formula it uses and the assumptions behind it, so you can check our work or reproduce it in a spreadsheet.
- Free, forever, without a paywall. WindChill is supported by advertising. There is no premium tier, no email gate, and no upsell.
Independence
